A very common question is “What is CrossFit?”
CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. All CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements, and these movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and more.
We feel that CrossFit is the best class based form of training for any individual to improve their fitness levels. Everything we do in CrossFit is what we call universally scalable, meaning beginners and seasoned CrossFitters can be trained in the same class under the watchful eye of the Coach.
Conveniently located on Epping High Street, CrossFit Essex offers individual or group based Personal Training. We see clients that range from the young to old, unconditioned to super-fit. Each Coach at CrossFit Essex has their own unique skill base and we will ensure your needs are matched accordingly. This is a great way to start your fitness journey.
Going by the name Boardsword Barbell Club, this dedicated weightlifting club is used by many in the gym from CrossFitters to team sports player to improve power, strength, coordination and much more. The club regularly attends weightlifting meets and has seen some of members compete at a national level.
Our mobility session is based on a combination of passive holding stretches, myofascial release and banded distraction to increase your ROM (Range of Motion). Typically, the mobility session will last from 30-45 minutes and just as a CrossFit class, every movement can be tailored to the individual.
Unlike most CrossFit gyms, when we are not running classes, we have open gym available to members from opening to close. This allows our broad range of clients to train towards personal goals, not necessarily CrossFit related. There will always be a coach around to help you with any queries.
